about

The 5th album by The Timber Owls, the title is certainly a reflection of not only the thematic concept of the album, but also the sonic experience of it. It is a return to the foundation and early days of the band in which songs were created for the sole purpose of satisfying the desires of the band, rather than trying to uphold an image. The result is a pop-minded alternative acoustic album with elements of folk mixed in. Brighter Days signifies a return to more simple song arrangement, but also continues the lush arrangements and layered sound that The Timber Owls have come to be known for. The lyrics range from simple love songs, to more elaborate and deeply rooted lyrics. The album also denotes a more confident and less self-conscious effort, showcasing the band's ability to create vocal harmonies, and to be less afraid of criticism. The result is a pleasant, catchy, and memorable release that keeps one foot in the band's past, but takes one step in a new direction. The band states that it is "the pop album we always wanted to hear, but never wanted to write!"
